2 Week - Term 3 Holiday

HOLIDAY

It was sunday morning  (first week of holidays) and we got ready,we were on our way to church.After church I played with my cousin there.After that we went home and my mum went to pick up my nana.When she came back with my nana she had some chocolate from America that my aunt had sent to my other aunty for all us cousins to eat.I shared with my niece and my brother.We were off to see my brother’s newborn baby,we were at G.I ( Glen Innes ). When we got there my other niece was there.

“ come see my baby sister! “ shouted my niece. WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Barked my brother’s girlfriend’s Dog.

We walked in and the baby was in her little cot.The mum took her out and gave her to me.She felt as soft as a puppy’s fur with her blanket on.We were all surprised that she had a lot of hair because she was just a newborn baby.After we gave her the baby’s gift and she thought it was really cute.

On the last week of the holidays I went to my aunty’s house, my nana would look after me and my cousins while their parents went to work and didn’t come back till 5 or 6. It was Tuesday morning bright and early, the tv is playing while some of us are still sleeping. We have breakfast a few minutes later, we had toast and a cup of tea. It’s basically boring as the clock tick tocks and we stare at the wall like nothing.

Next morning we woke up and did same thing that we did yesterday, except we decided that we didn’t want to stay all week inside so we decided to walk to the park because it was close to the house. I went with my cousins and my nana,it wasn’t really a park to me to be honest.When we got there, there was a two set swing and  a 2 set slide,a seesaw and a little car ride.We played until 1 and then we hit the gaps home.When we got home we played on the trampoline.

A few day later……

It was Saturday morning and I realised I was no longer at my aunty’s house I was at my nana’s house.

“Ana!” shouted my aunty

I went to my aunty and she was holding my baby cousin.She was crying and I had to hold her.She settled down and she started laughing.1 hour later we had breakfast,had a shower and got ready.We were off to the market in Mangere and we bought stuff for our family gathering.Soon we went to maccas and had lunch.We went home and watched T.V, while my aunty cooked for our family meeting.I fell asleep because I was tired throughout the day.

It was 7:00 at night and all our family was at our house.We had our family meeting first,after that we had a prayer and we all ate.There was heaps of food that my aunties and uncle had cooked.

And that comes to the end of my holidays,I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Persuasive Writing

 There should only be two subjects taught at school, maths and english.

I think we shouldn’t have to learn just two subjects in school. What school would decide to do that?  Would that be the right decision for kids education? A school with just two subjects, interval and Lunch just feels like a preschool, like really? A  billion reasons why I wouldn’t decided to do that if I was a person to make the decision.

Because of that we shouldn’t have just two subjects because when we grow up we might be learning things that could’ve been taught to us in intermediate. My reason also is we should all be able to show our progress that we have learnt in primary. We might love art, music, cooking or inventing and there are no subjects like that. I think we all should all be able to learn about what we love and what we need to learn about.

Research shows -

If we have time to teach *everything*, that would be wonderful. But if there is not enough time, then we should at least come up with a list of subjects, prioritised by value/usefulness, and decide based on that which subjects should be minimised or left out of the curriculum. As you can see the what I’ve found online is that someone is saying that we should be taught in school not everything but useful things.Something else I’ve found is that 1. Health/Human Biology - After 12 years, I think high school graduates should come out knowing almost as much as current doctors about the human body.

2. Business/Finance - After 12 years, everyone should come out of school with a clear idea of how to start a business, the laws and taxes involved, a solid understanding of finance, investment, stocks, etc. This shows that if there is a specific thing we want to be, that is what we should learn about.

For that reason this concludes the end of my Persuasive writing which tries to persuade teachers or principals to teach their schools more than just two plain old boring subject which we can’t learn everything.School is important which also makes the student’s education important to the staff and community.

Market day - Persuasive Text

In my opinion I agree that we should do market day because first we could earn money Second we get have fun and lastly we get to advertise.

First of all I agree because we could earn some money for a class trip or buy equipment that the school needs.We could maybe have a goal to earn.Then we could use the money towards a trip or something.we could also half our money and share with the school and have some money for our class.We could buy some equipment for the class or for the school that is needed and wanted.

Second of all I think that it could be really fun,It is a great way for us to interact with others and be active.We could have fun doing this,it would be pressure but it can be fun also.It let's us interact with others and meet new people and discover what people like.We can also show the teachers how we can do different things,just like advertising and marketing.

Lastly I think it's a really great idea to advertise as well because when we grow up we could be marketing or advertising.Some of us might like to be marketers and advertise what they are trying to sell.We might as well be good at marketing when we grow up because we are staring while we are young.Advertising could be for anything.So when it comes to us selling things we will be already good.

Finally in my opinion i think that it is an awesome idea to do market day.It is a fun activity and it lets us interact with others.It especially helps us with the money.

We have been learning about what goes into a good blog comment. I learned that you need to leave positive feedback and compliment the person on their learning. I also learned that it is important to describe how you feel about their learning and make a connection with them. Something you could do is offer them some advice to make it better and inspire them. If you have info that might help them, it's worth putting it in.

It is really important to greet them when you write the comment. If you speak a different language, you could use it. This week is Cook Island Maori language week, so we could open our comments with Kia orana. 

Now I have learned about what goes into a blog comment, I am going to use it when commenting on other people's blog. Thanks for reading my work, please leave me a comment.

My holiday

Holiday

First of all I had an awesome holiday but I’m going to talk about my favourite parts of my holiday.

In the holidays I went over to my auntie’s house and I had sleepover with my cousins and also stayed there for 3 more days.One night we played on my other cousin’s PS2 and we played a game called BUZZ.It was fun and we played all night,for me I wanted to play everyday and not stop because it was all these challenges where we have points and everything.Even though I kept losing I was keen to keep playing.Me and my cousin just woke up at 10 in the afternoon and we started laughing because we thought it was still morning.Another night we had dinner and then when we finished we played Monopoly and it was also fun.

On Friday we cleaned and then me and my cousin went to the Library and waited for my aunty and cousin to go clean the car and buy the tickets for the movies.We were planning to watch The BFG. We went to Sylvia Park where the Hoyts where.When we got there it was raining hard out. We bought all our food and also took food we had bought earlier,we went straight into the theatre.I couldn’t wait till we watched the movie.The movie was called the BFG if I didn’t mention and it was about a little girl named Sophie and she was friends with a Big Friendly Giant which she called BFG.The BFG would always get bullied by the other giants in giant land or something.The BFG’s job was catching dreams and he would go places and blow them into peoples minds while they are sleeping and they get good dreams.Sophie was kept a secret to only the BFG.Anyways I should stop because I wouldn’t want to spoil it for whoever may watch it.Anyways and hour later the movie was finished and I really loved the movie.When the movie finished we went home to get my bags and I went back to my nana’s house and stayed for a bit.At the end of the holidays I felt happy to have fun and have time off school to spend time with my family.Anyways hope you liked my holiday story.

MY WEEKEND!!!

It was Sunday morning we woke up and to our surprise it was 9:45 !!!!!  We were in a hurry because our church starts at 10,we got ready,rushed out the door like someone was telling us to get outside because there is a fire.  We got there maybe 15 minutes late but at least we made it to church.  I went to Sunday school and we looked at bible verses.  After that we looked at these books that I forgot what they were called and they showed new and stuff.

We had to find out which of them showed respect.  We looked at different ones and this time we had to look for something that described the verses in the bible,we shared around the table and some were awesome.  A few minutes later we looked at all these coins that the Sunday school teacher had from many countries.  We had to figure out what the countries of the money were and I actually figured out the US coins because I had learnt them from Khan Academy which was awesome.

 Sunday school was over and our whole church always has these cup tea rosters every Sunday and everyone was enjoying their cup of tea.Later on we finally went home and had a heated spaghetti sandwich.It was 2:00 in the afternoon but it actually looked dark and that it was night.  My dad needed to do something at the mall and we went to ST.LUKES.  When we got there it was as packed as a crowd in the most popular concert.

 My dad went to check his phone or something and then we went to the food court.
  "PEUPOUPEUPOBONGBING!!!!!!!" this annoying little boy kept yelling inside a rolled paper.When his mum said said it was time to go I was relieved.We ate and we headed to K -mart. Finally we went home and believe it or not,it was 5:00 and we were there at 2:00.Anyways we headed home and played around,watched t.v and then we went to sleep.At the end of the day I felt happy and excited for Monday.

IN THE WEEKENDS

IN THE WEEKENDS........



So basically I woke up on Saturday morning and I went to Netball.  when I got there, nobody was there  and I think it was cancelled so I went home.I just cleaned my room and hopped into bed and watched Fresh on tv 2.On that Saturday's episode included the laughing samoans and it introduced how they got together and how the show was possible.Another part I liked was the TAU TA'LA'TALA or something where there are different guests and they talk and ya it was funny and awesome.

Next my mum and her friend and I went for a cup of tea and then we went shopping.My mum had to go work so I went stayed with my mums friend and she was very kind,her name was Margaret.I asked her if she needed any tidying up and she said yes.We cleaned up all these boxes of celebration cards that she got given.She said if I hadn't been there she would've token hours doing it.Her mum died and she had all these stuff given to her that her mother had owned.It was in these boxes and we just had a look and she told me all about her family.

Some hours later my mum came and she picked both of us up and we went to have dinner.We went to this restaurant in dominion road which was called ROAST MEALS and they had different meat that were roasted of course.We went to drop Margaret off and we went home.When we got home we had a rest and went to sleep.

WEEKEND

On Saturday I woke up early in the morning and went with my mum.  She dropped me off to my netball game and It was still quite early.  When I got there I saw ms Siaoloa and Ms Lynn had already arrived,ms Siaoloa gave me the bags to go with to where we were playing and do our warm up.  I saw Fa’asua just standing around like she was lost.  I was surprised and I asked her what she was doing because we were supposed to be at the back where we always play.

She didn’t know because it was her first time but that was ok.

We went to the back and did our warm up and Psalms was already there.  We all did our laps, shuttle runs and stretches,some more of the girls were coming and Ms Siaoloa showed us how to play this passing warm up.  We did more warm ups to get us started for the game and because we had heaps of time.  The A team had their first game and we watched them.

A little while after we knew we only had four players altogether from our B team.  We were waiting and waiting for others to come but they still hadn’t come,it was 3 minutes till our game.

“MISS MARGARET'S HERE,MARGARET’S HERE!!!!!!!” SHOUTED ALIYAH. Yes Margaret had finally come and we had five players,it wasn’t that much but at least we had enough to play a game.

Our game started and blow! Went the whistle.

It was really hard for me because I had to try and defend the goal attack and the goal shoot.  I was really giving it my all but in my head I didn’t actually think I was doing very well.  I think the other girls gave it their best shot as well and that we may have been losing but we tried.  When it was halftime I was really happy because Margaret was gonna swap positions and help me out.  I was so grateful that Margaret was there to help me,she also did really good.  

At the end we lost by ??? I don’t know but yes we lost.  Ms Siaoloa was telling us we were doing good,I was surprised when she said I was like a machine out there and that I was doing very well.  When she said that I felt happy and she cheered me up that I almost cried??? I actually felt empty right at the moment when ms Siaoloa broke it to us and said there was no longer a B team because some of the girls aren’t trying hard enough to commit to Saturdays.Ms Siaoloa told us we were free to go or stay,I decided to stay for a little while because I wanted to support the A team.Unfortunately I only stayed for A little while of their game.

At the end of the day I felt sad that there was no more B team but happy that at least we got to play and that some of us have a chance in the A team.               

In The Weekends

It was Sunday morning and the funny thing was that morning was when my dad was going to wake me up.  So my dad was just going to wake me up when he heard me laugh,he was standing there and he knew I wasn’t awake so he knew I was still dreaming.  when I woke up I was surpised that he asked me why was I laughing,It took me a while when I remembered my dream and explained to him,I dreamt that my dad bought a car on trade me and when he went to where the pick - up was he actually received a toy car.  I don’t know why I thought it was funny but anyways that was the story of my morning.  

 Next I got ready and I gave a mother’s day card I made the night before together with a book of chocolate.  We were off to church,we got there and I walked into Sunday school.  In Sunday school we played this kind of mixed game of I spy and snap.  After 3 rounds we stopped playing because it got boring.  We all took turns reading these verses from the bible.  After that we made a decoration thing to put somewhere and it had all these different quotes on them and we sticked them together.  We had holy communion and went back to class for about another 10 minutes and church was over.  I made my mum a cup of tea and gave her a cake that was made.

We went home and I washed my clothes and my parents cooked for us to go to my nana’s house to have mother’s day there.  When the cooking was finished we went to my nana’s house and we were there early.  While we waited me and some of my cousins who were there played games.  When the rest of our family was all there we all gathered outside the deck where the food on the table was set up.  There was a pig that my uncles cooked and also food that all of the family cooked.  We did a prayer and there was a cake that my nana and my mum’s friend cut and we all yelled happy mother’s day.  We all ate and my dad was videoing everybody while they came to get their food and also while they were eating and enjoying the day.  When me and my cousins finished eating we all just split or stayed together and did different things.

 We had dessert and continued playing while the parents just talked and cleaned up.Everyone started going and we decided to go too because we had to drop my mum’s friend off.we said our goodbye’s and went.We dropped my mum’s friend and we came home,I packed up my stuff for school and lights were out for me for the night (even though it 6:00pm).

In the Weekend

After school on Friday I couldn't wait to get home because it was the weekends!!!!!! When I got home I played on my laptop and then I went to sleep.I couldn't wait to wake up the next morning.It was saturday!!! I went with my mum to my aunty's house because her little baby girl was getting baptized.

when we got there my aunty was doing her hair while my other aunty was just holding the baby.They all had breakfast and I didn't want to eat,so I looked after the baby.She was crying and then my aunty put her in her rocker.I played with her and she looked tired so I put her to sleep.When they finished eating breakfast they came back to check on her and she was sleeping.

They stayed in the lounge and me and my mum went to get ready for the baptism at the church.After maybe like 20 or 30 minutes we finished getting ready and we were off.This was the first time we went to that church.Because we didn't know where the church was,we were lost.We finally came across a catholic church and we saw all our families car, and other families cars.We knew that it was the church.Unfortunately we were late,but lucky the priest hadn't done the baptism yet so that was lucky.

There were different families and we just went up to the closest chairs when we realized that we were sitting at a different families side.The baby's name is Aitinilose and when the priest went to our families seat we quickly ran to our side,where our family was.I took a photo of the parents and the god parents,which were my aunties and uncles.Then finally came the time where the priest poured the water and did his things on each and every baby that came to be baptized.After 10 minutes the ceremony ended and our family took heaps of photos.

we finished and my aunty suggested we went to the Mcdonalds at the airport because it was closer to where we were.We all followed each others cars and soon we got to Mcdonalds.We all had to sit down.I also bet people were wondering why there were heaps of us kids and why we came to the airport Mcdonalds.Because there were too many of us,we were put into the room where the birthdays usually were.We all sat down and my aunty told we had to either put our hands up for chicken nuggets or burgers.

Obviously most of the little ones got chicken nuggets.My uncle did a prayer and we all ate,my aunty then came in with two trays of frozen drinks.Some of us had two because they were obviously the small sizes.The parents had the normal drinks.When us kids were finished with our foods we went and played in the playground.Me and my cousin went into this little cave and we just sat there and played a game,while the rest of the little kids were just playing in the playground.

We all went and lined up for ice cream sundaes and we were off back to my nana's house.All of us met there because we had a family meeting that was also there.some of the parents went shopping and came back and cooked while the uncles were doing the BBQ.While we were waiting I heard my cousins in my aunty's room so I went there and we all just played on the phone and tablet.Our aunty told us to get out of her room and play around outside.

So we just went and played tiggy outside and we came back inside because my cousin hurt his arm.We all decided to play cupcake which is supposed to be tomato sauce but,just called cupcake.We were all getting too noisy so we just sat down and had a laugh around,watch TV.I went to see baby Aitinilose,her mum put her into this cute matching outfit,I took a photo of her and she looked so cute in it.My uncle did a prayer and we all ate.

After that we played the cupcake game again.The meeting started and us kids had to also stay there and listen.The meeting finished and some of our cousins went.I don't know why,but we continued to play the cupcake game.Everyone started vanishing and I had become the only one there with my aunty,nana and mum inside.Outside was my dad and my uncle talking and stuff so we waited for long.Say 1 hour later finally we went,we got home and I hopped right into bed because I was tired.

EASTER HOLIDAY

On the Easter Holiday (sunday) We all woke up and went to church.When we got there the church was singing.After the singing the children went to the front.When we got there the priest would tell us a story of what happened to jesus on Easter.After that we did a prayer and he gave us chocolates because he didn't have any easter eggs.After that we went back to our seats and listened to the priest doing his job.

Church finally finished and we went inside the hall to have a cup of tea.Easter sunday we had hot cross buns and also a couple made these square rices and some chili and I loved it.It was so delicious.When my parents finished talking to the families in church we were off to home.When we got home we cooked some taro leaves and some kumara.

When we finished eating my dad made us some ice-cream and I went to hang my washing and came back and my dad gave me some ice-cream.I chose the flavor for the week and unfortunately my dad didn't like it because it was groovy gumdrops and it had too many lollies but he still ate it.

After that my mum suggested we went to give out easter eggs to our family.First we went to kingsland to my niece.I hadn't seen her since last year becauseI think her and her mum were too busy.When we got there she was so happy when she got to see us.I gave her,her easter egg and gave her a hug.When my parents went to the lounge to her mum she asked if I wanted to play with her.She got out her kinetics and we played.

While we were playing it started to get messy and we tidied up.We went inside and she showed me a photo album from when she was a newborn.I would always look after her when she was baby and now she is 6.we went and I said goodbye and she asked for a hug.I hugged and she didn't wan me to go but unfortunately I had to go.I felt sorry because she was an only child.

We were off home to get some more easter eggs and we went to my other niece's mum's house.When we got there I got off and ran to her and she had just come out from the shower so I just gave her,her easter egg and I said happy easter,hugged and kissed her then we went.Our last and final stop was at my aunties house.When we arrived there my aunty and uncle was gone to the shop to but some lollies for my uncle's brother to go with to Tonga.

They came back and they said the shops were closed so they went again to the dairy.Their little baby was still sleeping while they were gone and my aunty was just holding her because she cried.My aunty put her to sleep and my aunty and mum was just talking.my nana was sleeping so I woke her up and said happy easter to her and she walked into the lounge and watched TV.We got home and slept.

In the Weekend

IN THE WEEKEND.................

  On saturday I went with my mum to work and when we finished we went home and hung our washing.Next we had a shower and had a little snack and we went to my mum's other client.We took for a very long time because we went there and hung their washing like 4 times and also vacuumed their house.We had finally finished and we went to a little cleaning around the house.

Next we went to the hospital because my mum's client had a heart attack and we wen to visit her.I felt really when I saw her because she my mums best client I had ever met.We fed her because she had broke her arm as well.After that we went and unfortunately the window on the passenger didn't go up so my mum was worried because if we went somewhere and left the car someone might come and steal what is inside.

Later on we went to Panmure because my dad was working there and so we went to help him.After a while my mum went to the hair salon opposite where we were working to straighten her hair.She came back and we were still cleaning the floor.She came back and we did a bit more of the cleaning and she took me to the salon to do my hair.The lady straightened my hair and she asked how many friends do i have and I said to her that I have 100 friends and she started laughing.I think it took her maybe half an hour because she would just grab little skinny bits and straighten it one by one.

She finally finished and she suggested to trim my hair because of something and she did and then we finally left.We went back to my dad and he had already finished because we did maybe a half of the work and he did the rest.

Sunday.On Sunday we went to church and then we came home and my dad got out some Fish that we had got from my aunty and we let it melt for a while because it was blocked.My family went to sleep and I jut played on my tablet.When my tablet died I charged it and played on my laptop for a while then I got bored so I just slept.We all woke up and my dad cooked some fish for us to eat.

We ate and then we watched TV,and we went somewhere really quick and then we came back home and we slept for the next day.

Read Theory

When Mr Tafea told us to go on it I was thinking we would have to read books until he told us to stop.Fortunately it was more fun,what we did was read a book and answer the questions in the text.

I think the Read theory website is a good website for kids because it helps their learning.I also think that it is just like studdyladder because you read the books and you answer the question from the text.For me it was hard at times and simple at the same time but it was hard to focus on the questions whether they were right or wrong.

I would recommend to people this website because it really helped me and I think it will also help other kids.When Mr Tafea told us to go on it I was thinking we would have to read books until he told us to stop.Fortunately it was more fun,what we did was read a book and answer the questions in the text.

Lastly I would like kids to really look at the website because it cool and awesome for your learning!

In the Weekend

IN THE WEEKEND..............

In the weekend I stayed home and cleaned the house with my dad and my mum  went to work.I vacuumed the house,hung the washing and also cleaned the windows.My dad did some work outside while I was focusing on the inside.After a while my mum came home from work and had a little nap because she was tired.She washed our blankets.When I finished I looked for my mum but she was gone so I went to the deck and looked at what my dad was doing downstairs.He was Fixing some lights that he had bought from his work and I asked him why do we have it,he said that it was give to our nana's house in Vava'u because the lights there are not so bright.

My mum finally came back with some shopping and some chicken and chips so we could eat because we were hungry.I carried the box of shopping inside and I saw outside that my dad was talking to our next door neighbour.They talked for quite a while and my mum called him in so that he could get ready and have some chicken and chips to eat before we went to our family meeting.My dad came in and had a quick shower and ate with my mum because I'd had already eaten.

We finally went to my uncle's house and I saw my cousins.I love going to our family meetings because that is actually the only time we actually get together.My cousin and her sister were sitting outside and I asked why are they outside and not inside,they said it was boring inside so they came outside.My cousins were playing kicks with their rugby ball and we would just play music and try and get the ball of them.

My other cousins came and we all gathered around the tent and my dad did a prayer and we all ate.When we finished eating us kids went inside because we didn't want to stay and be bored inside with the parents doing their meeting.The meeting is when each family gives in money and on Christmas we get back what we gave (so it saves what we give in).All of us kids were inside and some of the boys were watching ant man,some were playing on the I pad . The rest were on the tablet,Me and my little cousin were playing on the phone and taking pictures.

Sadly my cousins went and only me ,my parents and my uncle and aunty were there.A  few minutes later we were on our way when my aunty called us to go to their house.We got there and my dad stayed in the car and we went to see why she wanted us.She told us to all come inside so that we could just watch t.v.My other aunty was frustrated because her husband put their little baby to sleep when she was gonna sleep and the little baby woke up,they came to the lounge and my aunty was just trying to make her sleep and all of a sudden she was half asleep and then she had opened one eye and then went back to sleep after 5 minutes.

We finally went home and I was tired so I went straight to sleep for church.At the end of the day I felt really happy getting to spend time with my family.

In the weekend

In the weekend……… In the weekend.On saturday me,my mum and dad cleaned the house because we were having a family meeting at our house. I woke up and cleaned my room and also vacuumed the house and rearranged the sofas.My mum and dad went to work while I had breakfast and had a break.My dad came first from work with some fruit and some meat to have bbq and also make some drinks.My mum finally came back from work and we all cleaned just the bits and pieces that were left in the house and I also went to hang the washing. Next my dad got the bbq started and I just helped my mum make some otai (tongan fruit drink) and some salads.I love having family meetings because we don’t get to see my cousins a lot so yeah and I also like to spend time with family.The first to arrive was my aunty,uncle and my cousins.My aunty went and helped my mum in the kitchen and my uncle went to my dad to help with the bbq.I had a shower and then came out and got dressed then went outside and played with my cousins. My little cousin rode my bike and his brother and sisters and I played throws with the rugby ball.All of a sudden my little cousin was just riding my bike and his sister threw a small lemon at him.He could’ve cried but he didn’t so he just started laughing and kept riding the bike.My other aunty came and also my nana.They went inside and my biggest cousin (eldest cousin) came and we played this farmer game where we would throw the ball at each other and who ever didn’t catch the ball or the last word of the song was on them they were out. Everyone started arriving and we all went inside because there were heaps of mosquitos and we got inside,did a prayer and ate.After we ate me and my cousins went to my room and just took pictures and videos on my tablet.While we were in the room my aunties and uncles were in the the lounge doing their meeting.After the meeting some of my cousins went and played pool table downstairs with my dad and uncles. After a few hours it was 10:00 at night and our family went to sleep for church.Because on sunday we don’t play pool table so we had 10 minutes till it was sunday so we had a quick game.The reason why we don’t play pool table on sunday it’s because we call it that you waste the sunday or something.
