2 Week - Term 3 Holiday

HOLIDAY

It was sunday morning  (first week of holidays) and we got ready,we were on our way to church.After church I played with my cousin there.After that we went home and my mum went to pick up my nana.When she came back with my nana she had some chocolate from America that my aunt had sent to my other aunty for all us cousins to eat.I shared with my niece and my brother.We were off to see my brother’s newborn baby,we were at G.I ( Glen Innes ). When we got there my other niece was there.

“ come see my baby sister! “ shouted my niece. WOOF! WOOF! WOOF! Barked my brother’s girlfriend’s Dog.

We walked in and the baby was in her little cot.The mum took her out and gave her to me.She felt as soft as a puppy’s fur with her blanket on.We were all surprised that she had a lot of hair because she was just a newborn baby.After we gave her the baby’s gift and she thought it was really cute.

On the last week of the holidays I went to my aunty’s house, my nana would look after me and my cousins while their parents went to work and didn’t come back till 5 or 6. It was Tuesday morning bright and early, the tv is playing while some of us are still sleeping. We have breakfast a few minutes later, we had toast and a cup of tea. It’s basically boring as the clock tick tocks and we stare at the wall like nothing.

Next morning we woke up and did same thing that we did yesterday, except we decided that we didn’t want to stay all week inside so we decided to walk to the park because it was close to the house. I went with my cousins and my nana,it wasn’t really a park to me to be honest.When we got there, there was a two set swing and  a 2 set slide,a seesaw and a little car ride.We played until 1 and then we hit the gaps home.When we got home we played on the trampoline.

A few day later……

It was Saturday morning and I realised I was no longer at my aunty’s house I was at my nana’s house.

“Ana!” shouted my aunty

I went to my aunty and she was holding my baby cousin.She was crying and I had to hold her.She settled down and she started laughing.1 hour later we had breakfast,had a shower and got ready.We were off to the market in Mangere and we bought stuff for our family gathering.Soon we went to maccas and had lunch.We went home and watched T.V, while my aunty cooked for our family meeting.I fell asleep because I was tired throughout the day.

It was 7:00 at night and all our family was at our house.We had our family meeting first,after that we had a prayer and we all ate.There was heaps of food that my aunties and uncle had cooked.

And that comes to the end of my holidays,I hope you enjoyed reading it.

Persuasive Writing

 There should only be two subjects taught at school, maths and english.

I think we shouldn’t have to learn just two subjects in school. What school would decide to do that?  Would that be the right decision for kids education? A school with just two subjects, interval and Lunch just feels like a preschool, like really? A  billion reasons why I wouldn’t decided to do that if I was a person to make the decision.

Because of that we shouldn’t have just two subjects because when we grow up we might be learning things that could’ve been taught to us in intermediate. My reason also is we should all be able to show our progress that we have learnt in primary. We might love art, music, cooking or inventing and there are no subjects like that. I think we all should all be able to learn about what we love and what we need to learn about.

Research shows -

If we have time to teach *everything*, that would be wonderful. But if there is not enough time, then we should at least come up with a list of subjects, prioritised by value/usefulness, and decide based on that which subjects should be minimised or left out of the curriculum. As you can see the what I’ve found online is that someone is saying that we should be taught in school not everything but useful things.Something else I’ve found is that 1. Health/Human Biology - After 12 years, I think high school graduates should come out knowing almost as much as current doctors about the human body.

2. Business/Finance - After 12 years, everyone should come out of school with a clear idea of how to start a business, the laws and taxes involved, a solid understanding of finance, investment, stocks, etc. This shows that if there is a specific thing we want to be, that is what we should learn about.

For that reason this concludes the end of my Persuasive writing which tries to persuade teachers or principals to teach their schools more than just two plain old boring subject which we can’t learn everything.School is important which also makes the student’s education important to the staff and community.

Market day - Persuasive Text

In my opinion I agree that we should do market day because first we could earn money Second we get have fun and lastly we get to advertise.

First of all I agree because we could earn some money for a class trip or buy equipment that the school needs.We could maybe have a goal to earn.Then we could use the money towards a trip or something.we could also half our money and share with the school and have some money for our class.We could buy some equipment for the class or for the school that is needed and wanted.

Second of all I think that it could be really fun,It is a great way for us to interact with others and be active.We could have fun doing this,it would be pressure but it can be fun also.It let's us interact with others and meet new people and discover what people like.We can also show the teachers how we can do different things,just like advertising and marketing.

Lastly I think it's a really great idea to advertise as well because when we grow up we could be marketing or advertising.Some of us might like to be marketers and advertise what they are trying to sell.We might as well be good at marketing when we grow up because we are staring while we are young.Advertising could be for anything.So when it comes to us selling things we will be already good.

Finally in my opinion i think that it is an awesome idea to do market day.It is a fun activity and it lets us interact with others.It especially helps us with the money.

How to make an awesome blog comment

We have been learning about what goes into a good blog comment. I learned that you need to leave positive feedback and compliment the person on their learning. I also learned that it is important to describe how you feel about their learning and make a connection with them. Something you could do is offer them some advice to make it better and inspire them. If you have info that might help them, it's worth putting it in.

It is really important to greet them when you write the comment. If you speak a different language, you could use it. This week is Cook Island Maori language week, so we could open our comments with Kia orana. 

Now I have learned about what goes into a blog comment, I am going to use it when commenting on other people's blog. Thanks for reading my work, please leave me a comment.

My holiday

Holiday

First of all I had an awesome holiday but I’m going to talk about my favourite parts of my holiday.

In the holidays I went over to my auntie’s house and I had sleepover with my cousins and also stayed there for 3 more days.One night we played on my other cousin’s PS2 and we played a game called BUZZ.It was fun and we played all night,for me I wanted to play everyday and not stop because it was all these challenges where we have points and everything.Even though I kept losing I was keen to keep playing.Me and my cousin just woke up at 10 in the afternoon and we started laughing because we thought it was still morning.Another night we had dinner and then when we finished we played Monopoly and it was also fun.

On Friday we cleaned and then me and my cousin went to the Library and waited for my aunty and cousin to go clean the car and buy the tickets for the movies.We were planning to watch The BFG. We went to Sylvia Park where the Hoyts where.When we got there it was raining hard out. We bought all our food and also took food we had bought earlier,we went straight into the theatre.I couldn’t wait till we watched the movie.The movie was called the BFG if I didn’t mention and it was about a little girl named Sophie and she was friends with a Big Friendly Giant which she called BFG.The BFG would always get bullied by the other giants in giant land or something.The BFG’s job was catching dreams and he would go places and blow them into peoples minds while they are sleeping and they get good dreams.Sophie was kept a secret to only the BFG.Anyways I should stop because I wouldn’t want to spoil it for whoever may watch it.Anyways and hour later the movie was finished and I really loved the movie.When the movie finished we went home to get my bags and I went back to my nana’s house and stayed for a bit.At the end of the holidays I felt happy to have fun and have time off school to spend time with my family.Anyways hope you liked my holiday story.
